Sol y Sombra
$130.00 AUD
Sol y Sombra is a study in contrast.
Two figures stand side by side, grounded in deep rust, tobacco and earthen tones. Their wide red hats cut boldly across a softened landscape of plaster pinks, chalky neutrals and sun-faded colour.
There is a quiet tension between them. Light and shadow. Warmth and depth. Individuality and connection. Their silhouettes are strong and deliberate, yet the loose, layered brushwork around them gives the work a sense of movement and imperfection.
The palette draws from sun-warmed walls, terracotta earth, oxidised iron and the deep shade found beneath the Spanish sun. Colours that feel weathered, lived in and full of heat.
This work is about the space between light and darkness.
About two energies existing alongside one another.
About finding beauty in the contrast.
